Incentia's TimeCraft Advanced On-Chip-Variation Timing Analysis
Adopted by Faraday
TimeCraft's Advanced OCV Picked for Great Performance, Rich Features, and
SANTA CLARA, California íV December 20, 2006 íV Incentia Design Systems, Inc., an Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software company that focuses on the timing and synthesis market, announced that Faraday Technology Corporation (TAIEX: 3035), a leading provider of ASIC design services and silicon IPs, has adopted Incentia's TimeCraft advanced On-Chip-Variation (OCV) solution to improve its timing analysis efficiency and accuracy with Faraday's advanced Location, Level, and Cell-Based On-Chip-Variation (LLC-OCV) libraries.
"Faraday is a pioneer in providing the OCV information through its LLC-OCV methodology and libraries to address the effects of on-chip statistical process variation," said Kun-Cheng Wu, Director of Design Development Division at Faraday Technology. "Incentia's timing software fully utilizes and takes advantages of the statistical OCV information to generate accurate analysis results with great performance. Incentia's TimeCraft and Faraday's libraries are a perfect match for advanced timing analysis and signoff."
"Ever since Faraday's adoption of TimeCraft in 2004, Incentia has continued enhancing its technology to meet Faraday's growing timing analysis requirements," remarked Ihao Chen, President and CEO of Incentia. "Leveraging TimeCraft's advanced OCV expertise, we are pleased that Faraday could further strengthen its timing analysis solutions along with its LLC-OCV libraries. TimeCraft's continuing success fulfills our promise to customers with the most advanced timing analysis technology."
About Incentia's TimeCraft and its Advanced OCV
TimeCraft is a full-chip, gate-level STA for timing signoff. It is the fastest STA available. It features comprehensive timing checking and reports, a built-in delay calculator, multiple supply voltage analysis, multi-task capability for multi-corner and multi-mode analysis, and advanced Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) handling, which enable the analysis on a large variety of design styles. TimeCraft has the runtime and capacity advantages that can dramatically reduce timing verification turnaround time.
TimeCraft's advanced OCV features address the effects of statistical on-chip process variations. The traditional OCV uses a constant derating factor and may impose unnecessary performance penalties on nanometer designs. These penalties include reduced performance, larger die sizes and longer design cycles. TimeCraft's advanced OCV uses variable derating factors based on the logic level as well as the physical location to select the optimal derating factor for each timing path. This results in fewer timing violations, which allows design teams to rapidly achieve timing closure. The native engine-based implementation is easy to use and delivers unmatched performance in runtime and memory usage.
