Incentia's TimeCraft Adds Multi-thread and SSTA

Multi-threaded STA for Fast Performance and Statistical STA for Process Variations

Santa Clara, CA - May 29, 2008 - Incentia Design Systems, Inc., a technology leader in nanometer timing analysis and design closure solutions, announced today the availability of new features in its next generation timing analysis tool. Incentia's TimeCraftTM, the world's fastest and sign-off proven static timing analyzer (STA), is now enhanced with multi-thread capability to greatly cut down analysis runtime for big designs. It also adds statistical STA (SSTA) to effectively address the process variations for designs using technologies at 45 nm and below.

TimeCraft has long been the STA technology leader for runtime and capacity handling. To continue its runtime advantage in analyzing big designs, Incentia has added the multi-thread capability. Through multi-CPU and multi-core machines, TimeCraft-MT, the multi-threaded version of TimeCraft, provides another dimension of runtime reduction. "For big designs with complex timing constraints, we have seen dramatic runtime improvements," said Arthur Wei, vice president of operation at Incentia. "The runtime speedup can be further achieved if more CPU cores are available while exploring multi-thread capability."

Due to the impact of process variations at 45 nm and below, traditional STA may not be able to deliver a solution efficiently. These process variations cause many more corners to be analyzed, and thus result in long turnaround time. Furthermore, traditional STA generates pessimistic results due to unnecessary large timing margins put to safe guard the variations. TimeCraft-SSTA is Incentia's Statistical Static Timing Analyzer to tackle these issues effectively. It considers variations from cells and interconnects with sensitivities, and performs both path-based and block-based analysis and reports, based on user defined correlations, such as intra-parameter, inter-parameter, and spatial correlations. Both CCS-VA and S-ECSM library formats are also supported. TimeCraft-SSTA inherits TimeCraft's fundamental engine in fastest analysis speed and big capacity handling. "At 45 nm and below, advanced users are looking at SSTA," said Arthur Wei. "We are committed to provide our customers the best-of-the-class SSTA tool."

Availability
Both TimeCraft-MT and TimeCraft-SSTA are available for evaluation now on Sun Solaris (32-bit and 64-bit) and Linux (32-bit and 64-bit) platforms.
